Year in review goal setting guided training video

The year in review goal setting guided training video provides a fast yet efficient method to set goals for the coming year or time period. You can use this method
to coincide with New Year’s resolutions and at any time during the year. The video walks you through every step of the process with some tips and encouragement to
help you complete the process.

This takes New Year’s resolutions to the next level as it gets you to think back and reflect on what occurred in your life over the last year. Your review of your past
provides an understanding of what happened and why and enables you to be more strategic in setting your plans and goals the the coming year or time frame.

You can download either the PowerPoint or PDF documents that you use to write down your thoughts and goals. Links to these are also available in the video player as well. I suggest you download one of these to have handy while you watch the video so you can fill it in as you go.
The PowerPoint document is better if you want to fill it in directly on your computer and the PDF is better for printing and filling in by hand.

Congratulations on your decision to set your goals in writing and I wish you the best of success.

Thank You to Fritz Glaus

My good friend, mentor and business partner Fritz Glaus passed way last night on June 12th 2011. I was fortunate enough to see Fritz one last time yesterday and said my goodbyes. I had lunch with him two weeks before and he was still lucid and smiling even though I could see he was in pain and suffering.

Over the years that I knew Fritz in the training and development field we had formed a special bond and I learned a great deal from him. Fritz introduced me to the types of people approach to knowing oneself and his research into this method of self-knowledge formed the basis of his book CrazyZoo, Know-Thyself Made Easy!

Learning about my type through Fritz’s training enabled me to understand my qualities better and the main fear of my type that triggered negative behaviors that I was able to work on and control better.

Fritz also developed leadership and team develop training programs that we sold to many companies and had great feedback and results from the participants.

Here is the last video I made of Fritz to have him promote his book. This was made less than six months ago. In the video he offers a free download to his special report for the business owner, Strengths and Weaknesses According to Human Type. Please go ahead and download it here. If you new Fritz and read this, please leave a comment.

Goal Setting 101; get back to basics

Being a fan of hockey, last night I read an article about the surge in winning games by the New Jersey Devils. They were running almost dead last in the NHL prior to the New Year.

Since a few weeks they have a new former coach, Jacques Lemaire, who had helped the team win several Stanley Cups. Now he has gotten them back to winning games and there record over the past few weeks has been 12 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. Pretty impressive for a team that could not find a way to win prior to his arrival.

What did he do? He got the team back to mastering the basics of good hockey, which begins with solid defence of quickly passing the back out of the home zone so at to create offensive opportunities.

Now you may be reading this post many months after it has been posted, but I can bet that if you pick up the sports section you may find another team going through what the Devils did. It could even be in another sport. The point is that if you get away from the basics of the game your track record for success can be put in jeopardy.

The same is true for success in business and in life. To win the game you need to be focused on a key goal. Not 10 but really 1 or 2 as more than that creates stress and confusion. You can have sub goals attached to your key goal and that makes sense because there are always small steps to take to reach the bigger goal.

I recently listened to a recording by Earl Nightingale who provides clarity about the principle behind goal setting and positive thinking in the The Strangest Secret. He recorded this in 1956 but this recoding still is listened to by million each year. Here it is taken from YouTube.

As well you can get going on goal setting by downloading this goal setting form from our website or use the year in review PowerPoint.
